The ordinary passport is a travel document issued to Argentine individuals that serves to prove identity and nationality to foreign governments. It is valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for minors.
How to apply for a Passport?
You can only process the application at the Consulate General in Vancouver if you reside within our consular district.
Passport procedures are in-person and by appointment only. On the day of your appointment, consular fees will be paid, a photo will be taken, fingerprints and signature will be recorded. The information is directly transmitted to RENAPER. Subsequently, the Passport will be printed in Argentina and sent to the Consulate by mail. The process takes between 30 and 90 days from application to receiving the Passport.
You will receive your Passport through one of the following methods:
- Personal pick-up at the consulate.
- Pick-up by an authorized person: the authorization must be signed on the appointment day, and the authorized person must bring an identification document.
- Postal delivery: on the appointment day, the applicant will sign an authorization for postal delivery and provide a prepaid envelope (Xpresspost or similar) for shipment.
